Setup Day

Setup needs to be completed on the 4th before the evening reception, which is being held in our area. This is a huge bonus if we want to set up our playground booths and the lab, because we'll have a captive audience. It's especially important since this year the keynote speaker, Nicholas Negroponte, will be talking about the use of Linux on the One Hundred Dollar Laptop program.

  1. Test internet connectivity with servers
  2. Hook up cables, switches
  3. Tape down cables to floor
  4. Label each thin client workstation with login name and password
  5. Set up email garden laptops with LiveKiosk and test
  6. Set up printing for LiveKiosk to JetDirect ports (if we are doing printing)
  7. Set up printers on workstations for JetDirect printing (if we are doing printing)
  8. Prepare literature / demo table
  9. Set up Playground Booths
